Hey everyone! in today's post, I want to show you how to use the signal app.
It's a private messenger app that you could use on your iPhone, on your android devices, on your iPad, and it even has applications for mac, pc, and Linux.
Why Signal App Getting Popular?
It is end-to-end encrypted just like most messaging apps are, but it's also an open-source app. You could see the code for the app if you wanted to.
And that's one of the reasons they got a lot of attention recently.
It is not supported yet on Chromebooks, though so, let me show you exactly how to use signal private messenger app and why you would want to use it
How to Use Signal Private Messenger App?
I have it on my mobile, I'm going to go ahead and open and walk you through the signup process first let's do that.
Press continue, and let's go ahead and enable some permissions.
You do need a phone number here to sign up.
It does have to be a valid phone number.
This is the verification process of your account because it's going to send you a message.
So, type out your phone number based on your country and verify your account with the code.
And type your first name, but you don't have to type in the last name (not a compulsion) and press save.
Then, the home page of the signal app appears on your mobile/desktop screen.
So on the home screen of the Signal app is easy to use you could click the setting icon & can change your profile picture if you like.
To send a message, press the pencil icon, and then we need to go ahead and give it access either to our contact, or you could find people by their phone number and send them an invite, and then you can have a chat with them.
It works like any messaging app, you have your message box type out any message here your message will get typed out, and then you could go ahead and press send.
If you've used WhatsApp or messenger, or any other apps, you're going to be comfortable using this one too.
Another icon on right lets you install and send stickers.
Microphone icon access to your microphone and start and record a voice message & send it.
So sending videos, pictures, recording voicemail, text messages, etc. all can be done here.
Within an individual text message, this works the same way with a group message, and you could also use this as a video chat or an audio chat platform besides sending messages.
You can turn off / on the camera, mute or unmute, etc.
The audio call has the same process as the video call have.
Now on the home page, all your messages will show up this is very very similar to WhatsApp if you've ever used that before.
You also have the search bar to search for people in this section as well.
Sending disappearing messages - click on the left corner right top, and turn on disappearing messages, then you get a slider message that disappears after one day or if you come in the beginning message disappears after five seconds so one week or five seconds that's your range.
Why Signal App?
Most of you have questions in mind - Why I need another messaging app if I already have WhatsApp or iMessage on my mobile?
So, the answer is simple, signal app it's just an alternative to those apps for sending photos, videos, text messages, and to do one-on-one or group voice and video calls. The only difference it is more secured than Whatsapp or Imessage.
